The FAU Office of Graduate Studies, in cooperation with the Graduate Student Association, and the Office of Undergraduate Studies, is pleased to offer a series of Graduate Teaching Assistant workshops over the next several months. Each session is designed to provide you with timely and important information on how to become a better instructor, deal with difficult situations, manage the various responsibilities in the classroom or laboratory, prepare and grade exams and homework with fairness and consistency, and use various technologies to enhance student learning.

The first workshop is scheduled for October 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in General Classroom North, Room 101. Three distinguished professors who are known for their outstanding teaching abilities will be leading the first workshop “On Becoming a Great Teacher”. Dean Gregory Aloia will lead the discussion on “Teaching and its Relationship to the Scholarly Role of a University”, Professor Daniel Raviv will give a presentation on “Introducing Innovative Hands-on Teaching in the Classroom”, and Professor Robin Jordan will lead the discussion on how to "Meet your Students: Learning Preferences and How to Adjust Teaching to Cover all Learner Types”.
